London Fashion Week 2011!

Okay, now I thought I was going to be visiting London Fashion 'Weekend' were it's open to public and students (boring) BUT no, I got a phone call off Ally from work who was going to LFW with Cat, but Cat wasn't feeling well and gave me her place for the launch! Not going to lie, I jumped up and down in my room far too excited to go!
We got to Somerset House about 3pm, got our badges from reception and had a quick look around the Show Tent were the catwalks w
ere been held. We took a few snap shots and then headed to the drinks bar to get some wine...it was needed.
After the break we started on the exhibitions and had a chat to some of the designers, getting information off them about there collections and details.
I loved the atmosphere! It was just electric, everybody looked amazing, and designer labels were just hanging from everybody! There was a lot of men in heels though...

After going through each exhibition and having my photo taken in front of the giant LFW poster I left Somerset House a happy girl and completely adoring my little Mulberry Tote bag ha!...

UGG & Lipsy...

Another day out into the West End, heading to an UGG appointment and then Lipsy.
Our first appointment was at UGG, myself, Cat, Lisa and George all went to this one as it's the biggest brand that Yogoego stock. We were taken into the show room and Dominque the sales assistant when through all the new stock and told us how well each item had been selling, which gave Cat a rough idea of what to bring into our new stock.

The boots were amazing! From seeing previous UGG's it felt as though they had gone in a whole new direction with the designs this time, there was far more to choose from.
We also checked out the accessories and tried everything on...I'm definitely going to have to invest in some UGG wear when it's in stock!

After sorting this order out myself and Cat left to head to Lipsy, George and Lisa headed back to the office. On arrival to Lipsy, the shop window was floor to ceiling glass with a butterfly theme, paper butterflies had been placed everywhere inside. The 2 women we dealt with we had previously spoken to at Pure London, we got a break down off the collection and started to pull out all the pieces we liked, there was a wide range of colours and styles to choose from which was good. We wrapped this appointment up quickly and moved on to go back to the office...with a quick stop off in H&M and Topshop on Oxford St....just to treat ourselves to some jewellery for working so hard!

Back at the office I just sorted all the social networking stuff out and got all the pictures from the two appointments onto the system.

A few of the brands we looked at were Forever Unique, Maggie&Me, Kuccia, Rare, Reverse to name a couple! We couldn't grab the garments off the rails fast enough, we took sample pictures and got information about each piece of clothing we ordered.

Blogging for Your Business!

So at the crack of dawn this morning, Myself, Roz and Ally made our way to Tottenham Court Road for a 8am seminar on blogging, seems as though it is Social Network Week. The seminar was based around how people had used blogging to expand there business and how important it actually is!

It was actually really interesting to listen to the people talk about how blogging had changed there way of business and how it made people more aware of them.
I imagined this seminar to be quite brain numbing but I was really hooked all the way through, they made it enjoyable to listen to, and easy to understand, by using a range of slide shows and keeping us interacting with them.

I learnt from today that the basic rules for setting up a blog is to find out what your going to be discussing, who is your target audience and how are you going to keep them hooked into wanting to always come back...I also learnt it was about making the bloggers want to interact with us, as a company, we need to make it interesting and beneficial! It won't take off if you have no initiative behind the conversations.

East London & Starbucks!

Today was another outing to East London to do some buying with clients and brands.
Myself, Cat and Roz travelled over to East London, with Cat driving like the Stig and by the time Tallulah (the sat nav) had sorted herself out, we finally made it!
Our first brand viewing was too Motel, a well known brand across the UK stocking, fashionable dresses, tops, skirts, shorts and a majority of other garments! We sat down and spoke to Helen who gave us an in sight into what had been going on with the brand and clothing and how well certain items had been doing.
We then pulled a rail out and added to it what pieces we liked and what our customers would like, there was a majority of items that were the same shape but in different patterns, we picked out ones that we felt our customers would particularly buy.
After taking pictures and writing down codes, descriptions etc we left to head to our next destination! Along with a Starbucks in between for extra energy!

Tullulah took us on a journey but we finally made it to the next wholesale place, to view shoes an lots of them!
We spoke with a guy called Craig who went through the new
stock and showed us the best sellers, again we picked out the ones we liked and what the customers would like. It was a tough choice but we narrowed it down! After attacking the shoe section we mo
ved onto a small range of outerwear, selecting a few different coats and jackets, perfect for the autumn/winter seasons! Again we wrote down all the information needed and took pictures and started to head back to the office.

Along with a sing along of Dolly Parton a few wrong turns and a lot of road rage we made it back!

Phootshoot - Forever Unique & Wildfox

Today was phootshoot day for two of our best selling brands - Forever Unique dresses and Wildfox tee's and jumpers!
The model we used for the shoot is called Anna, a student studying Fashion Marketing at a near by university, she has a very versatile look, which benefit's us for a range of different trends. Myself and Roz teamed up to do makeup and hair on her before the shoot.
The team was on stand by, the garments had been steamed previously the night before by yours truly and we were ready to shoot! Pablo did a quick check over the lighting and a few snap shots and we were on our way!
Starting with the Forever Unique dresses we were on a roll, quickly changing her outfit, making sure it looked clear and crisp to shoot, give her hair and makeup a quick once over before each image also. We do up to 4 different shots of each item, a full front, a full back, a crop and a zoom image, if there's any specific detail more can be added.
We later moved onto the more casual range of Wildfox, going through the process mentioned before hand.
Ally also viewed the phootshoot on video camera too so we can put some videos together of 'Behind The Scenes' to show the customers what really goes on! It could also give the customers a chance to see some of the garments been worn and moved around it.
A few final pieces were accessories i.e head bands, which were close up shots of the head, for detail.

After the shoot we packed an bagged up all the garments, ready for sale!

Done and dusted!
